Wilmington tinnitus support group to meet

On Wednesday, Oct. 24, a tinnitus support group will meet in Wilmington, in  the conference room at the Winchester Hospital Family Medical Center. 

Tinnitus is a name for noises in your head. The noises can be ringing, buzzing, bells, chimes, or a hissing. The noises can be intermittent or steady. The Family Medical Center is located at 500 Salem St., Route 62, in Wilmington.

“We will talk about strategies for listening and hearing,” said Dr. Lauren Foley. 

The session begins at 1 p.m. and will last about an hour.  The general public is invited to attend to learn more about tinnitus, which is the number one disability among veterans. There is no charge for the session.  The address is 500 Salem St. in Wilmington. 

Another support groups will begin at 2:30 p.m. and last about an hour. This group is for people who are hard of hearing that may or may not wear hearing aids. Family and friends are encouraged to attend as well. 

The general public is invited. There is no charge for the groups.
