Jeffrey Newnham Named as Phonak LLC’s New President

Hearing manufacturer Phonak has announced the appointment of Jeffrey Newnham as its new President of Phonak LLC, effective immediately. Newnham has over 30 years of experience in sales, marketing, and general management in the eye care industry, and takes over for Mike Orscheln, who left the company in April.

Newnham was most recently at Alcon, an eye care manufacturer owned by pharmaceutical company Novartis, where he most recently served as vice president, Europe, Middle East, and Africa. In this position, he was responsible for direct sales organizations in many of the larger countries in Europe, as well as sales through distributors in Africa and Central Asia.

After the acquisition of Alcon by Novartis, Newnham was responsible for integrating three independent commercial organizations: Alcon, CibaVision, and Novartis Ophthalmics.

“We are convinced that Jeff with his great track record of successfully growing revenue, market share and profitability and with his friendly, customer-oriented focus is the ideal person to effectively bring our Phonak business in the US to the next level,” said Paul Thompson, group vice president, Phonak Wholesale North and Central America.
