In a heartfelt announcement this morning, Ian Punnett, part of the “Ian and Margery” morning show team on myTalk 107.1 (KTMY-FM), told listeners he’s cutting back his time with the station. Citing ongoing issues with tinnitus causing him constant loud buzzing in his ears along with sleep issues and headaches, Punnett said reducing his time on air was part of his treatment plan.
“Recently, it was decided by the best doctors in the country that I have to be more aggressive with my treatment and more proactive in my efforts to keep it from getting worse by reducing my exposure to audio,” he said in a statement on the station’s Facebook page.
Punnett will still be heard weekday mornings, but for two hours instead of his usual four-hour shift. Starting on Aug. 13, Punnett will co-host with his wife, Margery Punnett, from 7-9 a.m. Taking the early shift with Margery is “Twin Cities Live” co-host and myTalk’s “Dirt Alert” reporter Elizabeth Ries from 5:30 a.m.-7 a.m. And Colleen Lindstrom and Bradley Traynor will start their mid-morning show an hour earlier at 9 a.m.
